Traffic Graphics Tech Support Questions
A big black streak runs across my diagram when I open it in CorelDRAW, how do I delete or fix it? This problem occurs when you have imported impact attenuators into your traffic control diagram. Here is how to fix it.
Can you type anything on a line? Yes. Make the line, and then select the Text Tool, as you move the cursor to the line it changes to an “I” beam – click and start typing. For additional help open the Learning Assistant and look in the Lines chapter, for text on a line.
I can't find my CorelDRAW Authenticity Card or Serial Number? If you lost your serial number call Corel Corporation at 800-772-6735. They will help you with a new one. They will need the receipt from when you purchased the software.
How do I make project specific signs? You can modify any sign very easily. Select the sign – ungroup it – select the text tool – highlight and change the text – regroup text and sign.
If you are using CorelDraw version 12 and higher - Select a sign - Choose the Text Tool - change the text and you are done.
You can also save this sign to a directory of your choice, for use in other diagrams. See the Learning Assistant, in the sign help file look for modify or customize signs.

How can change the default font used for Artistic and Paragraph text in CorelDRAW?

This document provides the steps required to change the default font used for Artistic and Paragraph text.
To change the default font used by CorelDRAW®, follow these steps:

Click Tools, Options, Document, Styles.
Highlight Default Artistic Text and click Edit.
Change the font properties (typeface, size etc.) and click OK.
Highlight Document and place a check beside all Document Options.
Click OK.
CorelDRAW will now default to the selected font when using Artistic text. Same same process can be used to change the default font for Paragraph text.

How can I send my drawing electronically to someone else to see?
What happens to my drawing, as I work part of the drawing is missing? This is called a screen tear. Sometimes video cards have trouble keeping up with the constant demands of graphics programs that must redraw the screen to show your work. You do not have to up grade the card unless you want to this is a quick fix, simply hold down the CTL key and press the letter W on your keyboard to refresh the screen.
I need help with one of my drawings, what can you do? If you have some questions and need help you may email us the .cdr plan you are working on. Please include your contact information and our staff will call you. We will ask for permission to remote acess your computer using GoToAssist technology and we will instruct you on how to get connected.

How do I import maps?

Go to a web site like www.mapquest.com and enter the address of the area you need.

Do you have the signs with the California sign code? No. They are named the same as the FHWA. You can however, change the name of the file to one of your choosing. Go to the folder that contains the Traffic Graphic images right-click the image and then click Rename.
I used to save custom signs by dragging the item into the scrapbook, and now I am having problems, what do I do? Important Notice Regarding the Scraps and Scrapbook within CorelDRAW
How do I make a line of cones for a taper and a tangent? This is an easy way to have the cones, barrels, or objects follow a path.

Can I print help information for using Advanced Roadways?

For text inforamtion to use Traffic Graphics Advanced Roadways;

1) Open CorelDraw
2) From the Scrapbook navigate to Advanced Roadways - double click Text - Examples
3) scroll for the file - open and print.
